Choosing the right therapist can be a challenging process. We are here to support you with that. To make it a little more simple, we break it down into a few steps toward seeking support. Follow below.
Self-assessment
Look inward and ask yourself what kind of support am I looking for? What am I struggling with? What would be the best approach for me?
Create a list
Make a list by asking for referrals, and close friends, or complete a search with your insurance provider or an online directory like Psychology Today. Search and narrow down who you are interested in.
Reach out
Call and contact the therapists or agency and consider asking some quick questions about your personal preferences.
Make a choice
Choose who you think is best and schedule after you receive further information. Ensure you have the flexibility in your schedule to maintain consistency and comfort.
Prep for appointment
You got to the point and are making a big leap towards improving your mental health. For your first appointment consider things that you need to complete with your mental health provider like paperwork.

Allow yourself time before and after sessions to prepare for stress such as traffic, finding the office, or planning other activities around your schedule.
Lastly, be proud of yourself for seeking help. Mental health has long been a stigma, but no matter where you are we want you to know we are celebrating with you. You are exercising the mind today and by talking about your mental health you are helping fight against the stigma!
